We offer the following highly effective multisensory programs: The Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing (LiPS®) Program For reading and spelling The LiPS® program, a multi-sensory approach to language, helps students become better readers and spellers by providing them with new tools for perceiving the identity, number and order of sounds within words. The program teaches students to rely on articulatory feedback, or the way sounds feel inside their mouths, in order to compensate for deficiencies in phonemic awareness. The Lindamood Visualizing and Verbalizing (V/V) Program® For language comprehension and thinking The V/V® program systematically teaches individuals to first create mental pictures from language read or heard, then to recall, organize and verbalize the information visualized. This imaging process moves from small units of language (a word) to larger units of language (paragraphs and pages). Our goal is to provide students with the tools to develop vocabulary, comprehend written and oral language, express themselves concisely (orally and in writing), and to think critically. Seeing Stars® For sight words, rate and fluency Seeing Stars® is designed to stimulate symbol imagery, or the ability to visualize letters both in isolation and in words. This skill is essential for learning to recognize sight words that are difficult to sound out. Strong imagery also helps students improve their rate and fluency when reading in context. Seeing Stars teaches students to create a mental picture for letters and identify the corresponding sounds, building from single to multi-syllable words. On Cloud Nine Math® For math and problem solving On Cloud Nine® is designed to make fundamental math concepts concrete through conceptual and numerical imagery. Through language and manipulatives, students learn to generate and apply the imagery that makes math computation and problem solving much easier to understand. Intercept Program® For learning readiness Developed by Learning Techniques, the Intercept program actually makes students more 'teachable' by addressing specific problems that inhibit learning. Intercept targets the fundamental brain processes required for successful learning, including the ability to store, analyze and retrieve information. ABCdEcode Software ABCdEcode is a pre-phonics CD-ROM program that teaches sound-to-symbol association, as well as basic reading and spelling expectancies. |
