Effective instruction begins with accurate assessment

What are the underlying causes of a learning disability?
We provide testing that gives a complete picture of a student's strengths and weaknesses.

In order to develop a treatment plan that is specific to a student's needs, we recommend first conducting an evaluation based on standardized tests. The Reading & Language Center offers an array of diagnostic assessments to identify the source of a student's difficulties. Depending on the student's profile, we may administer one or more of the test batteries below for a complete picture of their learning strengths and weaknesses.

Academic Assessment (full or partial)

Our academic assessment helps us to evaluate development in the following areas:

    •  Vocabulary
    •  Listening comprehension
    •  Reading comprehension
    •  Math concepts
    •  Reading fluency
    •  Sound-to-symbol association
    •  Phonemic awareness
    •  Visual memory
    •  Word attack skills
    •  Reading and spelling

Intercept Screening

    •  Focus
    •  Focus amid distraction
    •  Respond on cue
    •  Store and retrieve mental picture
    •  Sequence auditory/visual information
    •  Transfer information between sides of brain
